The topic wasn't something that bothered me when I heard of this piece. I knew that I wouldn't be able to follow the theme but that my idea would be fine anyway. The theme that I chose was the pine trees because the tree is something that thing about a lot. Not that i want to sound creepy when I talk like that. I have always liked trees, plus I am good at drawing pine trees so it wouldn't be a far stretch to draw them. Something that was a problem though was how to fit the flicker light on top (it was too small). I had to cover it with tape and the paint it to stay in. Overall I am pleased at how it turned out except how the tape at the top looks and the bottom of the vase with the brown paint.
